A Day of New Beginnings and Deep Gratitude | Our little ...

Friday, September 26th, was an eventful and profoundly touching day. We spent the day supporting one of the girls we work with, and the experience reinforced our deep respect for the professionals in child welfare.

The journey began with a visit to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) at Apna Ghar. The girl had bravely requested help, asking to explore boarding to ease pressures at home. The CWC staff were incredibly kind and professional during the four hours we spent there. They took statements from both the girl and Robert to facilitate the admission process. Their support and sensitivity were exemplary, and we left with the fantastic result of a child protection order for her admission into a boarding home.

Later that same day, we arrived at the children's boarding home as she began her fresh start. It was a memorable entrance! We were greeted by the joyous sounds of girls celebrating Navratri, all dressed up and seated in a circle. After completing the admission paperwork, there were a few tears as Robert left, but the girl was clearly ready for her new chapter. The next day, we were warmed to hear she had already made friends and enjoyed the activities, even receiving a traditional outfit to wear for the celebrations.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). Your dedication and swift, sensitive action were crucial in securing a positive path forward. And to the incredible staff and community at the boarding home, thank you for the warmest of welcomes. Immediately including her in the Navratri celebrations speaks volumes about the loving, supportive environment you foster. Your efforts truly make all the difference, and we are deeply grateful for the fresh start you helped provide.

Our little family has had a challenging time recently, with several of our children facing health issues. It's a reminder of how fragile life can be, but also how strong we are together.

One of our girls, who is already very frail, has been battling a serious bladder infection. We've been making frequent, and often traumatic, trips to the hospital for tests and sonograms. It´s hard to see her so unwell, but we are doing everything we can to get her the best treatment and support her through every step. Your well wishes for her recovery would mean the world.

Another of our boys was recently diagnosed with jaundice. Thankfully, he is now on medication and is starting to feel a little better. We're also caring for a young girl who dislocated her knee just from standing�a painful and worrying event.

Another girl has a bad Urinary track infection, just before her exams which has meant missing vital study sessions.

This is where your incredible support makes all the difference. Your generosity ensures that we can be there for our children, providing them with the medical care, nutritious food, and loving attention they need to heal.

Thank you to everyone from the MBD group who came to see us last week. It has been a while since we say them, a few years ago they donated lots of notebooks which we still have a few that we use for tuitions. This time they brough rice, Dal and Flour. Thank you!

We celebrated Teachers' Day early at Goa Outreach this year, and it was pure energy! The kids organized everything themselves, and their excitement was contagious. Just look at the video�about 20 kids bouncing around to Hindi beats, having the time of their lives! A massive thank you to our students for making the day so fun and to our incredible teachers for inspiring them every single day.

Thank you to Gautham and Rutuja who brought us Chicken Biriyani for lunch today. Gautham wanted to give a birthday surprise and told Rutuja that they were going to a restaurant, but they came and shared food with around 30 children (and a few parents). Thank you so much for sharing your special day with us and Happy Birthday Rutuja!
